Don Trilby

New age funk, eastern european punk, pop, hip-hop and jazz; Don Trilby forges a new sound that carries dirty beats, screaming solos and driving hooks, all wrapped up in a neat funk and soul package.

The band started as a collaboration between former ‘The Underbelly’ (Record Kicks) main man Luke New
and Dan Pye of ‘The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists’ and big beat rockers ‘Manchild’ (One Little Indian Records). After touring Europe and the UK Festival Scene, becoming regulars on 6 music and making appearances on the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show with their previous acts, the two men are now bringing the funk with Don Trilby!

Don Trilby has developed a tailor made live set of storming dance floor fillers, catchy horn melodies and atmospheric sweeping refrains. Their brand of high-energy funk meshes instrumental hooks with blaring call and response vocals that turn the audience into a part of the band.

Since debuting in 2016, Don Trilby have enjoyed regular airplay from
BBC Radio Cornwall as well as a
back catalogue of South West festival appearances including Nass Festival, Little Orchard Festival and various stages with BBC Introducing. Now working towards the 2018 release of their debut album, Don Trilby are set to hit the UK festival scene hard in 2019.
