Wasson me beauties! We’ve spent the last week listening through stacks of incredible local acts, arguing over pints of Rattler, and we’ve finally narrowed it down to three absolute belters. Now, fate of these bands is entirely in your hands. 🍏🎸
Here is your 2026 shortlist:
🎸 1. THE RAGDOLLS
The Ragdolls are a 3-piece band from Cornwall playing upbeat and nostalgic alternative rock with catchy and melodic riffs, blending post punk and indie rock in equal parts. If you like The Cranberries, The Strokes or New Order you’ll find yourself at home in the crowd!
⚡ 2. SANDSIFTER
Coming out of the south west of Cornwall, Sandsifter are a five-piece indie rock band bringing back the sound and attitude of British rock ’n’ roll. After playing countless gigs across Cornwall and Devon, they’ve built a loyal following with regular BBC Introducing support and two live radio sessions with Rewind Radio. Led by Ikey, Sandsifter bring high energy, loud guitars and a proper live rock ’n’ roll sound. Now they’re ready to take that sound to the next stage.
🎹 3. RHYS HURD
Rhys Hurd blends the sound of 80s Rock and Synthwave with modern day pop to create a unique brand of up beat music that will have you singing . Since the release of his latest single “Who the Hell am I” , Rhys has gone from strength to strength, playing shows across the South West, getting featured on BBC Introducing in the South West and even took the show all the way to London for the first time in July 2026. Rhys and his band has gained a reputation as a must-see live act in Cornwall and Devon.
